Fully licenced and in survey to carry up to 45 passengers in spacious comfort, our dedicated crew team will will ensure you have nothing to be concerned about as you cruise past the stunning Sunshine Coast scenery and locations. With plentiful and a wide range of seating options, you are assured of the maximum comfort  and enjoyment for you and your guests. Every Crusader 1 wedding event takes into account the season and it’s likely weather conditions.

In addition, Crusader 1 has authority to utilise the large pontoon in-between the Coast Guard station and Pier 33. This makes it ideal for those parties looking to have a beach wedding with beautiful Mooloolaba Bay as a backdrop, and then have their guests enjoy the facilities aboard Crusader 1 just a short stroll from the wedding location, as the couple has their photographs taken.

Crusader 1 is designed as an “open Deck” vessel, so you will never feel confined. Her layout is perfect for cocktail or the popular “progressive standup” style events. However we can accomodate seated dining for smaller groups if this is your preference.

Her bow is a favorite location for just sitting back on the large comfortable bean bags with a drink. But it’s also a fantastic spot to have your staging company make it a Bride and Groom sanctuary and the ultimate photo shoot location!

  • Choose from our modern marine (2000W) sound system or a live music option to make sure the mood is perfect.
  • We have plenty of comfortable seating ranging from bean bags to lounges and more.
  • We work closely with Marry Me Adam who is without doubt the No 1 celebrant on the Sunshine Coast, or of course you can organise your own. 
  • We can assist with organising a staging company to make sure the boat is looking exactly like you want it to.
  • We can assist with caterers or you can have your own to ensure food is as perfect as everything else.

A Wedding does tend to require substantially more time than our other product offerings. As such we strongly recommend you book as far in advance as possible to enable us to lock out the times that are required for your event.

This is needed as bookings for weddings are seldom if ever “standard”, and more often than not require special components and timings.

For a GPS use “Bridge Seafoods” or “209 Brisbane Road Mooloolaba Qld”.    In iPhone Maps “Bridge Seafoods” is far more accurate.

Please DO NOT park your car here on the service Road, but rather in the FREE public car-park next to the BP service station across the road. 

The location is the corner of Incana Court and Brisbane Road. This parking is free and unlimited in time, and only a 2 minute stroll (100m) from the departure point.

Once parked please wait near the top of the ramp until instructed by the skipper that it is safe to come down the ramp and board the vessel.

So, you are getting married! Congratulations!

By now you will no doubt have realised that a wedding may well be one of the most difficult days to organise that you will ever experience! And then the costs…. Wow, they can be very very overwhelming at times!  Well, we hope to be able to take a little of that – the burden and the costs – off your shoulders.

At Sunshine Coast Afloat we offer, unique, memorable and enjoyable weddings that will not break the bank! You may in fact be shocked at how affordable your wedding can be when you sit down with us and tell us what it is you would like to do!

There are many other advantages to having your wedding, reception or both aboard our vessel. Let’s list a few;

  1. ATMOSPHERE. This is a given on a boat. In all our years of running cruises parties and weddings it’s always been instantly apparent that everyone immediately relaxes and enjoys themselves from the very moment they step aboard. And how could they not. Our dedicated crew team ensures there is nothing to do other than be looked after as you cruise past the stunning Sunshine Coast scenery and locations.
  2. SPACE. Crusader 1 is a large boat. She is in fact the 2nd largest charter vessel on the Sunshine Coast! Yet we take a maximum of 45 passengers. So space is not an option, it’s another given!   3. DRINKS. We are fully licenced and very proud of our reputation as having not only a very large range of drinks, but also all of those at prices that rival landbased venues! And with enough notice we can even add special requests if this is something you need! The Port Side bar (Yes, that’s it’s name!) is there to add to your wedding enjoyment in every way we can!
  4. ASSISTANCE (with other areas needed).Wedding - on the bow young Bride and Groom A venue like our vessel is just one part. Yes, usually one of the first parts you need to figure out, but then there is the celebrant, the catering, the staging and the music (and even more in some cases!). We can assist with all of those if you would like us to. Why? Because if you need that help to make you wedding better then that is exactly what we want and need to do. Our goal is always to have the best experience possible nas the outcome for our customers!

Some important points to understand:

  • All wedding are booked as a Private Charter booking. This means you have the entire boat to yourselves. No outside “individual” bookings are possible.
  • Any “help” such as celebrants, waiters, waitresses, DJs, Musicians etc are to be included in the passengers numbers. 
  • Departure times for wedding are always made in consultation with the customer to ensure they are best suited to the days plans. This can only be done by phone or email as a booking system cannot show such flexible/adjustable times unfortunately.
  • Weddings normally require “Staging” or decorating of the vessel prior to departure. To ensure sufficient time for this is allowed it must be arranged at the time of confirming the booking. A staging time fee is applicable if more than 15 minutes is required (Most weddings require up to 2 hours preparation and an hour to dismantle as a rough guide).
  • The alternative pick up and drop off point next to the Coast Guard on Parkyn Parade Mooloolaba can also be arranged if required. Please call to arrange well in advance. A fee is applicable for this service.
  • All under age passengers must make themselves know to the crew.
  • No combination of BYO and Purchase aboard drinks is possible, beit alcoholic or not.
  • Purchases can be made at the bar using cash or eftpos.
  • Drinks purchases can be set to the budget and preference of the organiser. Drinks packages are available if such is desired. Tabs can also be set to suit. All tabs must be settled with the onboard bar prior to the conclusion of the cruise.
  • The vessel cannot depart until we have been able to confirm that ALL passengers are accounted for via the sign in form (sent by email on the final confirmation and as a QR code at the departure point.) A delayed departure caused by this not having been done will not result in an extended return time.

DEPARTURE/RETURN LOCATION The Pontoon at Bridge Seafoods, 209 Brisbane Road (Service Road), Mooloolaba  (Sunshine Coast), Queensland. Australia
DEPARTURE AND RETURN TIMES The departure times can be arranged to best suit you and your group.
DEPARTURE NOTE Please arrive 30 minutes prior for a prompt departure. Please ensure you have checked in via the Covid Safe link sent with your confirmation or with the QR code at the departure location. Please understand that legally We cannot depart until EVERYONE has properly checked in.
WHAT TO WEAR & BRING We recommend enclosed shoes (NO BLACK SOLES & NO STILETTO HEELS IF AT ALL POSSIBLE PLEASE!),  as well as perhaps a hat and sunglasses. Depending on the weather forecast perhaps bring a rain jacket, just in case.

As much as we do understand it is sometimes difficult to not (want to) wear stiletto heeled shoes at a wedding, a boat is not really suited to them. They generally damage the deck finish and all too often sprained (or worse) ankles are a result. This as the deck is a moving platform when we are underway. We can loan you stiletto heel protectors ($5.00 refundable on return) but this will only protect our deck, not your ankles. You are welcome to go barefoot during the event.

We recommend you have you wedding catered as we do not supply food! You are welcome to bring your own food with you or perhaps using the Bridge Restaurant and bar’s food options is an idea for you!

Alcohol can be purchased aboard. NO BYO DRINKS! We reserve the right to check bags and other items to ensure alcohol is not brought aboard.

Please note that Crusader 1 is a NON-SMOKING vessel.
