With longer days, balmy nights and spring weddings just around the corner, what better way to celebrate a Hen’s Party than on board Crusader 1 with Sunshine Coast Afloat.

Whether they are called Bachelorette parties (USA), Doe parties (Canada) or Kitchen teas (South Africa), the idea is to honour the bride-to-be with a girls gathering just before “tying the knot.” In Australia, we tend to use the term “hen’s party” for an exclusive ladies party before the bride walks down the aisle. There are two theories as to where this term originated. Some believe it comes from the word “henna” which is a pre-wedding custom in the Middle East, North Africa and Asia, while others believe it comes from 14th Century English word “hen” which did not just refer to birds, but rather all female of a species.

Today, hen’s parties offer spa treatments, male strippers, winery tours and art classes as a treasured rite of passage with girlfriends before the “big day.” But if you are looking for something different and affordable with a bunch of friends on the Sunshine Coast, we can tailor a celebration to suit your needs.

You can book “Crusader 1”, our 55 foot open deck vessel, exclusively for your group to drink, dance and laugh the evening away. Enjoy the views of the Mooloolaba Bay, Mooloolah River or canals while partying and playing games to enjoy pre-wedding festivities. Flexibility is the key with a range of different seating, times and decorations available. A fully licensed bar is available or BYO, along with food and music. Are you ready to get back out on the water after isolation? We at Sunshine Coast Afloat have the perfect cruise for you!  Come alone or bring your partner and join us for a  1.5 hour lunch or twilight seafood cruise!

Before you come aboard you’ll get to choose what fresh seafood you would like to indulge in while cruising. Select your favourites or choose to be surprised by a platter chosen for you and a partner or friend made fresh from the trawlers.

Once aboard you will be welcomed by the friendly staff on Crusader 1 and listen to a quick safety briefing. Now head straight to the fully licensed bar on board and get yourself drink! Choose from a selection of beers, wines, champagne, spirits and even a couple of speciality cocktails! No need to carry cash on you either, the bar has full eftpos facilities!

The wonderfully relaxed atmosphere aboard makes cruising along the canals a dream, walk all around the open air deck or head up the bow and sit in the bean bags, enjoy the sun and really take in the views, there really is so much to see!

Can’t make lunch and would prefer a twilight cruise?   The magic of the lights glistening on the water as the sun sets is really something you have to experience!

Once your full of seafood, drinks and amazing memories you will dock back where you boarded and all you have to do is walk off and remember the amazing time you had, the staff on board will do everything else and the best part is no clean up for you!

Make you next function or celebration on board Crusader 1 as a private function.  We are all about tailoring your cruise to suit your desired outcome.  We can offer BYO food and drinks or suggest catering options.

If you’d like to throw a “shrimp” or “snag” on the barbie, that too is an option you might want to consider.  Seafood or grazing platters, we can offer for you to enjoy what appeals to you and your guests.

Be welcomed aboard by our friendly crew who are there to look after you while you take in the views of the Mooloolaba Bay, coastline, rivers and canals.

Crusader 1 is a large (55 ft) open deck vessel so you can immerse yourself in the outdoors but if need be, we can close her off with clears.

Head up the front on her bow and relax on bean bags, or enjoy a range of different seating on the deck.

Sit back, enjoy your family and friends and we take care of the details.

Crusader 1 - Sunshine Coast Afloat

Crusader 1 can now offer a wider range of options for your cruises!

Coastline & Canal Cruises –  Head out into the Bay, up the coastline and into the Mooloolaba canals.  We take a maximum of 23 passengers on these trips.  Why not expand on this and maybe have a swim, or even put on a BBQ.  Make it a great fun time on the water.

River & Canal Cruises –  Cruise the still waters of the Mooloolah River and canals.  A maximum of 45 passengers on these trips.  Ideal for finger food and drinks.

Christmas Lights Cruises –  Both Crusader 1 and Hela-Va Jet will be doing Christmas Light crises throughout December this year.  The decorations are going up already so we are hoping everyone gets involved in the Christmas spirit.

We are not licensed so alcohol is on a BYO basis.

Food options are available – from BYO, we can cater for you or you have it catered yourself.

We try and adapt our cruises to suit your occasion.  Bring your own music and you can even decorate Crusader 1.

21st BIRTHDAY CELEBRATION

A different way to celebrate –  no need to worry about how loud your music is or if you are disturbing the neighbours or upsetting anyone.  Head out to sea and let your hair down.  Scream, yell, laugh & sing as much or as loud as you want while you are out in the Mooloolaba Bay and cruising the coastline.

This group celebrated Dannii’s 21st and took advantage of all the poles on Crusader 1 to throw in a few dance moves.

BYO food and drink or we can arrange food platters for you.  Hire the BBQ and have a cook up – it’s your choice.

As with all our group bookings we can also offer you some great specials for The Wharf Tavern for after your cruise to really make it a full evening of fun, dancing, eating, laughter and drinking.

 

 

 

CORPORATE SUNSET CRUISE – Sunshine Coast

Visit Sunshine Coast work hard to bring more conferences and events to our region and we were lucky enough to have Maui Motorhomes enjoy our 3 hour Coastline & Canal Cruise the other evening.

After being locked behind closed doors for days they were looking forward to being out doors enjoying the surroundings that the Sunshine Coast can offer and what a lovely way to enjoy the evening, cruising the Mooloolaba Bay watching the sunset, enjoying some finger food, a few drinks and great conversations with their colleagues.

Everything was catered for so they didn’t have to worry about a thing, except bringing their alcohol which, lets face it, is not a chore.
